Jabatan Laut Malaysia Web Portal Development

Project Description:

Led the design and development of a comprehensive web portal for Jabatan Laut Malaysia (Malaysia Marine Department), a government agency. This project involved collaborating closely with the client to understand their needs, proposing a user-centered design, and implementing a robust and scalable solution.

Personal Highlights:

  • Developed a custom staff directory plugin to showcase department personnel effectively. Features include: search, filter, and sorting.
  • Passed a test from MAMPU for web performance, web portal load below 5 seconds and can handle up to 10,000 concurrent visitors.
  • Successfully delivered a user-friendly and informative web portal that met the client’s specific needs and requirements.
  • Implemented a modern and responsive design that improved the overall user experience.

My Role:-

UI/UX Design:

Conceptualized and designed the entire user interface and user experience using Figma. Presented design proposals to the client and iterated based on their feedback to achieve final approval.

Front-End Development:

Developed the front-end of the web portal, ensuring responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and adherence to accessibility standards.

Back-End Development:

Built the back-end functionalities of the portal, including content management, user authentication, and database integration.

Plugin Integration & Development:

Utilized and configured key plugins like Elementor, Crocoblock, ACF and Translatepress to enhance functionality and streamline development. Developed a custom plugin for the staff directory to meet specific client requirements.

Data Migration:

Played a crucial role in migrating data from the old web portal to the new platform, ensuring data integrity and a seamless transition.
